The Biodiversity Council is Australia’s trusted, evidence-based voice for nature.
Nature is vital to a strong economy as well as happy and healthy people. But in Australia, nature is rapidly declining all around us. Each year, more species and ecosystems are pushed closer to extinction; Australia needs stronger action to protect them.
Now, more than ever, a trusted, evidence-based voice is needed to ensure biodiversity is at the top of the national agenda.
The Biodiversity Council brings together leading experts in science, Indigenous knowledge, law, policy, economics, behaviour change and communications to shape a clear vision for Australia’s environment.
Every day, we work to spotlight the most pressing biodiversity issues of the day and present evidence-based solutions to solve the nature crisis. We inform and challenge decision-makers, advocate for stronger protections, and share scientifically-accurate knowledge with the community, business and government.
Together, we can safeguard biodiversity so it thrives for generations to come. With your support, we can:
- Secure a better budget for nature and challenge spending on subsidies that harm the environment.
- Help shape environmental laws that deliver real protection for biodiversity.
- Develop evidence-based solutions to urgent challenges, from harmful algal blooms to habitat destruction, and connect leading experts to decision-makers to drive action.
- Provide expert advice to guide policy reforms to ensure the best outcomes for biodiversity.
- Be a trusted voice for the community, helping them to understand the biodiversity events of the day, and empowering them to take action to help nature around them.
Donate today to support our work and together we can make a difference for Australia’s biodiversity.
Note that we can currently only accept donations via bank card. If you'd like to pay by Apple Pay or G-Pay, please be patient as this will be available over the coming weeks. Thank you for your support.
