Lis Ashby

Lis is the Biodiversity Council’s Policy and Innovation Lead. She works with Councillors to harness their collective knowledge, provide thought leadership and advocacy and drive positive change for biodiversity policy and regulation at the national level.

Lis has a strong background in public policy having worked for over 15 years in Victorian and federal environment departments to improve regulatory design, undertake legislative reform and develop strategic biodiversity policy. This included leading innovative work to embed climate change adaptation across the natural environment sector.

She has a BEnvSci (Botany and Chemistry) from Monash University and a Master of Environment from the University of Melbourne.
